Is it taco Tuesday yet? Then you’re in luck! This crockpot chicken taco recipe is super simple and so tasty! You only need 5 ingredients to make this moist shredded chicken that can be used for so much more than just chicken tacos.
This crockpot recipe makes a good bit of chicken, way more than the two of us could eat in one sitting. But that gave me the opportunity to make another recipe with the cooked chicken, which will be coming soon!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet of taco seasoning
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 14.5 oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 4.5 oz can green chilies
- taco shells and toppings of your choice
Directions:
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle taco seasoning on top.
- Add the onion, diced tomatoes and green chilies on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is starting to fall apart.
- Remove chicken from crockpot and shred. Place back into crockpot and mix well.
- Serve with the taco shells and toppings of your choice.
