Get ready to be impressed by the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow ($24) line! Available in 10 different colors, these intense shadows will blow you away!
I bought the color Smoldering Satin, a tan eyeshadow base with silver sparkles. Be warned, these buggers are loaded with glitter!
I was simply amazed at how much color payoff and coverage these provide. A little bit goes a very long way to completely cover your eyelids. This one does not require a shadow base at all.
One word of advice, don’t mess with them much after you apply it to your lids. If you try to blend it too much you will get fall out. It’s best to leave this as your last step.
I apply all of my other eyeshadows first, leaving my lids empty. I then apply the Glitter & Glow shadow with the provided applicator. Then I take my index finger and gently tap the shadow to blend it out evenly.
These dry very quickly as well so there’s no need to worry about keeping your eyes closed as they dry. You’ll be shocked at how glittery your eyelids will be after just one thin layer.
Yes, they are gorgeous but the wear is impressive as well. I have very oily eyelids and these stay perfect on me even after 10+ hours. I have zero creasing at the end of the day.
And the glitter stays pretty much in place as well. There’s maybe one or two rogue specks of glitter on the top of my cheeks throughout the day. I expected the fallout to be much worse simply because it’s packed with so much glitter.
I have hooded eyes so the only thing I noticed was several specks of glitter above my crease where my eyelids can’t help but meet the folds of my eye. It wasn’t bad though and only noticeable when my eyes closed.
Removal is a piece of cake as well. It easily comes up with a simple makeup wipe without loads of scrubbing. It just simply wipes off.
You will be left with a few tiny stubborn specks of glitter around your eyes, even the next day. But that just comes with the territory of wearing glitter.
If you like glitter eye shadows, then I highly recommend these. They are pricey but so worth having at least one for special occasions.
