Colourpop recently released an awesome collection of 25 beautiful Ultra Matte Lip ($6) colors. I bought the 7 colors that really spoke to me the most; Midi, Trap, Shimmy, Donut, Solow, Bumble and Creeper.
The colors I chose were more of the subtle, lighter range. The others in the line are very bold and some dark which really aren’t my speed.
The Ultra Matte Lip packaging is clear plastic with iridescent lettering. It has a nice sized doe foot applicator which makes applying them fairly simple.
These have a fairly thin consistency that can be a bit tricky to apply, especially the darker you get. Creeper, the red one, really could use a good lip liner first to give the edges a cleaner look.
One thin coat is really all you need for opaque coverage. And they dry super fast so be quick with your application. You’ll want to try to avoid layering coats to lessen the chances of cracking or flaking.
Since I’ve stuck to only applying light layers, I have not had any trouble with any of the Utra Matte lip colors in that regard. Do make sure that you start with moisturized, exfoliated lips first though because the matte finish will emphasize any dryness you have going on.
Unlike a lot of other liquid matte lipsticks, Colourpop’s version does not make your lips feel like the sahara during the day. They feel feather light on the lips with no tacky or sticky feeling.
As far as wear, these do not budge at all. They wear like iron throughout the entire day unless your eating something really greasy.
At the end of the day you’ll probably have to use an oil based remover to get off the remnants. Olive oil or coconut oil works really well for this.

My Final Thoughts:
If you like matte liquid lipsticks, the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip is definitely for you. The color payoff and wear time is amazing as well as the price point.
