Smashbox teamed up with popular YouTube beauty guru, Casey Holmes, for their latest highlighting palette. The Spotlight Palette ($35) comes in two colors, Pearl and Gold.
Each palette comes with two shimmer highlights and one sparkle highlight. These powders are intense. It takes very little to make your skin glow like a light bulb!
I love the first two colors on my fair skin, Turn It On and Crank It Up. Each one has a creamy smooth texture and blends very easily for me.
You can’t tell from the swatches below but the third shade, Blow a Fuse, is very sparkly. The sparkles shows up quite a bit on the cheekbones so I try to brush it away with a fan brush, but no luck.
I’m not a fan of this color for that reason alone. The highlight color looks beautiful but my 40+ year old skin does not need sparkly glitter to highlight my texture.
I have mixed feelings about this Smashbox highlighting palette. $35 is quite a bit for only three shades, let alone two if you don’t care for sparkle highlighters.
For only $5 more bucks, I think the Anastasia Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit is a much better value. You get a total of six highlighters and none of them contain sparkle.
But on the other hand, the colors in this Spotlight Palette are more subtle and wearable everyday so I still like them very much.
Have you tried either one of the Smashbox Casey Holmes palettes? What are your thoughts?
