For Spring 2013, Revlon introduced 4 new shades of their Colorburst Lip Butter ($6.50) I already reviewed and swatched two of the shades in a previous post, Sorbet and Wild Watermelon. But now I’ve gotten my grubby hands on the other two colors, Pink Lemonade and Juicy Papaya.
Let me just mention that these were really hard to come by! They are part of a Gucci Westman Spring 2013 Revlon display that is out now in certain areas but I have yet to see it in any of the numerous drugstores I’ve searched through. All 4 shades will be permanent and I was finally able to find them in the regular Revlon displays at Target.
Pink Lemonade is a very pale milky pink shade that is fairly shear on the lips. This one reminds me a lot of Nars Turkish Delight which in fact looks pretty good on top of this! It’s actually very different from any of the other pink shades of lip butter that I own. Strawberry Shortcake is much more pink while Cotton Candy is more of a lavender pink color.
Juicy Papaya has a definite orange tone to it. It’s a little more pigmented than Pink Lemonade but still pretty shear on the lips. The closest orange/peach Revlon lip butter I have to compare it against is Peach Parfait. They aren’t really similar at all. Peach Parfait is more pink while Juicy Papaya is more orange.
Both of these shades work pretty well for me and my fair skin. I think Pink Lemonade is one of those shades that may work for some and may not for others. It’s a really light shade that could give some people that deathly pale look.
What do you think I these two Revlon Lip Butter colors? Will you be running out to find them?
