I picked up two of the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks ($5.49) the other day, Plumrose and Flamingo Pose.  This is a brand new collection of lipsticks consisting of 30 different shades in total.  The entire collection is available on the Milani website but my local CVS didn’t have nearly all of them in the store.

A ton of other beauty bloggers were sent the entire collection a few weeks ago so I had seen tons of swatches way before I actually found them near me.  The majority of the shades are very bold and therefore not what I usually go for.  However, Flamingo Pose just spoke to me and I knew I needed to at least try it.

These Milani lipsticks are not for the faint of heart.  They are super duper pigmented and very opaque.  If you’re looking for tons of color, these are great.  If you like subtle shades, these are not so great for you.  They definitely live up to the name of the collection, color statement!

You’ll find that these lipsticks are nice and creamy and apply smooth and even.  They have a nice glossy finish to them and keep my lips pretty soft.  Thankfully they don’t give my lips that dry feeling that I hate so much.

Just look at that color!  Crazy right?  Have you taken a walk on the wild side lately with any of the popular bold lipstick colors yet?  They seem to be the hot thing this Spring and Summer.  Let me know what your faves are, I’d love to check them out!

  1. Have I tried bold lips *yet?*
I laugh, I jeer (kidding!). I’ve been doing bold lips for years, when everyone else was going nude!
A few of my favorites are MAC Girl About Town, Impassioned, Party Parrot, Violetta.
Lately, I’ve discovered Illamasqua, and love Atomic, Salacious, and Eurydice.
Lime Crime Poisonberry is pretty great, too, if you can pull off purple-y lips.
