Today I’m sharing with you the Lorac Mega Pro Palette ($59). This beauty is a limited edition holiday palette which includes 32 matte and shimmer eyeshadows.
Yes, currently this is sold out with some being sold on eBay for outrageous prices. I decided to still post my pics and swatches here in hopes that someday this one will come around for another run.
Not to rub salt in the wound but this palette is amazing! I have held off on both the original Lorac Pro palette and the Lorac Pro 2 palette but have heard how amazing they are. The day this sucker came out on the Lorac website, I jumped on it as soon as they made it available.
I love how there is an even amount of both the matte and shimmer shades. I also like that they divided them with the top two rows matte and the bottom two rows shimmer instead of just jumbling them together randomly.
Both formulas are super pigmented with good color payoff. They are a bit powdery though so you’ll get a lot of excess floating around the palette. I find it best to tap off my brush before applying to avoid the dreaded fallout.
To be honest when I first opened the Mega Pro I was worried that a lot of the shades looked quite similar. In the pics, the whole left column looks pretty much white but trust me they are all a tad different.
Cream is a light fleshtone and white is a matte pure white. Opal is a very unique white with a golden shimmer. And vanilla is an off-white shimmer.
The majority of the colors in this palette are very neutral and great for everyday wear. The jewel tones add some extra pop and are very beautiful. One example is Indigo whose true beauty did not translate well in the pictures. It’s a very dark blue/black with pink and blue glittery specks in it.
Some of my other faves are the Apricot, a pretty peach color, and the Deep Teal which is actually more green than teal. I also want to point out that the Gray is not a traditional gray. It’s actually a blue-gray which is a nice change of pace.
As you can see, this one is well worth it. I’m enjoying it very much so I hope they re-release it soon so more people can get their hands on it. It’s quite a shame that they made such small quantities, especially around the holidays when palettes like these are in such high demand.
