Does anyone else get that sick thrill out of using deep cleansing pore strips on your nose? You wait in anticipation til the time is up just to rip that strip off and see what nasty stuff is stuck to it. If you can relate, then you’ll love this mask that I’ve been using lately.
The good folks at Leonie were kind enough to send me their Blackhead Removing Peel-Off Mask to try out. It comes in a squeeze tube with a flip top lid. It has a very pleasant clean scent to it but don’t be alarmed by the actual color of it, jet black.
The consistency is that of a fairly thick gel but I didn’t have any issues getting it to apply evenly onto my skin. Starting with clean skin, you apply a nice thin layer and let it set up for about 15 minutes.
When it is completely dry, peel it off starting at the edges. It comes off easily and painlessly. Any leftover remnants wash away with soap and water.
I was quite surprised to see some stuff on the underside of the face mask. It’s always nice to see proof that something is actually working! It leaves my pores looking smaller and my skin feels smoother and softer right after use.
What gives this peel off face mask it’s black color is the activated charcoal it contains. That charcoal absorbs excess oils and blackheads in your pores. It also contains rosemary and citrus fruit extracts for deep cleansing and detoxifying.
Overall I enjoy this Leonie blackhead removing peel off face mask and would recommend it. However, the one negative is that it contains parabens which is a bit of a bummer.
