Elf Ex-tra Lip Gloss Review and Swatches

Elf Ex-tra Lip Gloss

Elf Ex-tra Lip Gloss ($2) is a highly pigmented lip gloss available in 6 different shades.  All of the colors are named after men’s names.  I bought 3 of them; Scott, Michael and Joe.

  • Scott – nude with a hint of pink
  • Michael – deep berry red
  • Joe – peachy light orange

I would really consider these to be a liquid lipstick instead of a lip gloss.  They give amazing color payoff with opaque coverage.  They have a nice consistency that is neither slippery nor sticky.

All three of these shades have very subtle, super fine glitter in them that is barely noticeable in the tube.  On the lips, Scott and Michael just look like cream shades.

However, the glitter is much more noticeable with Joe on the lips. I’m really not fond of the Joe shade at all.  It gives my lips an almost frosted appearance which I am not digging at all.

For the price I am super impressed by these lip glosses.  I was not expecting them to be so pigmented and opaque so that was a nice surprise.  I really like how they feel on my lips and that they do not settle into the lines at all.

What do you think of these Elf Ex-tra Lip Glosses?

  1. Oh man, I almost added Michael to a recent order but I didn’t in the end, afraid it would be another lipgloss with barely any color in it…
Well, thanks to your great review, I’ll definitely add it to a future order. And with some other colors too!
Thanks for the info and the great swatches! :-)

    • Hi Mabel. Yes, I aim to have the colors in my pictures be as close to how they appear in person as I can. I hope that helps you.
