I usually have so many good things to say about Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes but this new one is disappointing. Wet n Wild is adding five of these new 5 pan eyeshadow palettes to their permanent line. I picked up the neutral one called The Naked Truth ($3.99).
First of all the price is great but you know the saying, “you get what you pay for”? That unfortunately rings true for this palette. You won’t find me raving about this one like I usually do for the original 3 pan ColorIcon shadow trios in the line.
The pigmentation of The Naked Truth is just not that great. The shadows are nothing like the ones you find in the trios. They are very sheer, powdery and you get lots of fallout with the crease shade.
Usually Wet n Wild eyeshadows have a nice creamy, silky smooth texture with loads of color payoff. One tap of your brush iis usually all you need. The ones in this palette are not like that at all.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the most terrible thing I’ve ever tried. It’s a usable palette but you’ll have to work with it more than you may want to. The colors are buildable, as shown in my swatch below.
If you want easier eyeshadows to work with, that don’t take a lot of product per application, then stick with the original Wet n Wild ColorIcon trios. It’s safe to say that I won’t be buying any of the other 5 pan eyeshadow palettes from this line.
Have you been having bad luck with Wet n Wild shadow palettes lately?
