The Urban Decay Vice3 Eyeshadow Palette ($60) includes 20 beautiful eyeshadow colors. I’ve passed on the first two editions of this palette the last two years because the colors were a little too bold and crazy for me.
The 2014 Vice3 caught my eye with its nice blend of matte and shimmery shades. For once I knew that I would use this palette a lot since the colors weren’t as crazy to me. Plus there is a nice variety of colors enabling a whole eye look with just one palette.
I usually gauge buying an eyeshadow palette by how many colors I’ll use on an everyday basis and how many I don’t think I’ll ever use. If the majority are the latter, I won’t splurge for the palette. I was excited about this one cause there’s only maybe 3 shades in total that won’t get much love from me.
The palette comes packaged inside a bonus fabric bag that you can use for makeup, brushes, mini tablet, etc. The palette itself is plastic with a shiny silver top and a multi-colored design with lime green raised lettering.
Inside you’ll find a huge mirror, the entire size of the lid. You’ll also notice a double ended makeup brush that is super soft. One end is a rounded blending brush and the other is a flatter shadow brush.
As you can see there’s a nice mix of colors in the palette including matte neutrals which are great for the crease and highlighting. Plus beautiful jewel tone colors perfect for fall and winter.
As with the majority of Urban Decay eyeshadows, these are silky smooth and very pigmented. They are a bit on the powdery side so tap off your brush to eliminate fall out issues.
I highly recommend this Vice3 palette. I know it’s quite an investment all at once but at $3 an eyeshadow, you really can’t go wrong!
Available online at Sephora, Ulta and Urban Decay.
