Sometimes several days go by and my nail polish still looks about 75% good but I just don’t have time to change it. Or have you applied fresh nail polish only to have it chip on you the very next day? To stretch out a worn or slightly damaged manicure, I have one quick and easy tip.
Apply a crackle nail polish on top of your existing manicure! If you have tip wear, minor cracks or chips, the crackle polish covers it up and your manicure looks fresh and new!
This works great if you’ve got last minute plans and your polish looks not so fresh. Avoid any embarrassment by covering up those imperfections. I recommend following the crackle polish with a fresh clear coat also.
The picture above is my Zoya Kendal manicure that is 10 days old!! At day 6, my nail polish was looking dull and had tip wear and a few chips around the edges. I applied OPI Super Bass Shatter and a fast drying clear top coat and it looks like new!
Yes, you can notice around my cuticles that my nails have grown out, but from far away, no one will ever notice that. So now I’ve made it through the weekend to the point were I have some free time Sunday evening to change my polish.
You can also try this tip with a chunky glitter nail polish too. If the glitter is big enough, it should cover minor wear with a coat or two. Glitter nail polish is a lot more difficult to remove, so I prefer using the crackle polish approach instead.
