The Tarte Tarteist Paint Palette ($49) is an Ulta exclusive collector’s set for the 2016 holiday season. It’s an amazing deal with 24 eyeshadows, a blush, bronzer and highlighter plus a mini Tarteist mascara, mini Tarteist lip paint and a brush!
The packaging has a colorful retro groovy design with a fabric exterior. You open up the palette to reveal the 24 beautiful eyeshadow colors with a huge mirror in the lid.
The extra goodies are tucked away in a drawer underneath. There you will find a nice soft and fluffy eyeshadow brush plus a mini Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in the color Double Tap and a mini Tarteist Lash Paint mascara.
The blush, bronzer and highlighter palette come in their own stand alone, removable palette. It has a magnetic closure so it would be a great trio to travel with. Plus it’s just too adorable!
Both the blush and bronzer colors are matte. They are both nicely pigmented with good color payoff. The bronzer, however, is a bit on the orange side and a little too dark for my fair skin. They both blend out very easily.
The highlighter color gives a light pink glow to your skin. It does have very, very fine bits of sparkly glitter in it.
What attracted me to this palette is the beautiful array of neutral eyeshadow colors. I’m not a bright, bold shadow girl so these shades are right up my alley.
The majority of colors are very nicely pigmented with only a few duds. The lighter matte shades in the top row are very similar looking on the eyes and pack less of a pigmented punch. However, the darker colors, aside from the black, more than make up for that.
The eyeshadows are a bit on the powdery side so you will get excess powder kicked up when you tap your brush in. Just be sure to tap off your brush before applying the eyeshadow to your eyes or you will get fallout.
The Tarteist glossy lip paint is a very pretty natural mauve pink color. It has really nice pigmentation and feels nice and light on the lips. It has a nice glossy finish and is not sticky.
One thing to note is that when you remove the wand from the bottle, it looks like it may be moldy. Don’t panic like I did, lol! I tweeted about it and Tarte replied saying is was just the pigments that dyed the doe foot applicator that color.
@myfindsonline That’s from the pigments dyeing the cotton wand. It’s the same way for our full size ????

The Tarteist mascara seems to give my lashes both some added volume and length. It keeps my lashes nice and separated as well.
Overall I think the Tarte Tarteist Paint Palette collector’s set is an awesome deal. You get so much for the price and I really don’t have any major complaints about anything.
