New from Tarte, and only available at QVC right now, is this Amazonian Clay Cream to Powder Bronzer ($34.56). This bronzer comes in one shade, Globe Trekker. The color is about the same shade as Tarte’s Park Avenue Princess powder bronzer. The difference is that this bronzer is packaged as a cream and comes with a nice dense, fluffy brush to apply it with.
The packaging of this cream bronzer is beautiful! It comes in a flat plastic pot with a screw top lid. The lid is a shiny bronze color with Tarte’s usual Amazonian Clay design on top. The pot is a generous size at about 2 ¾” wide. You get 0.7 oz of bronzer as compared to 0.32 oz for the Park Ave powder bronzer.
The brush that comes with this bronzer is pretty good quality. It’s a shorter, compact brush with a fat dense head of bristles. It’s fairly soft, not as soft as some other Tarte brushes, but has been shedding a bit. I hope that’s just an initial thing that will stop as I use it more.
The color of this bronzer is very nice for my fair skin. It’s not dark like Too Faced Chocolate Soleil but dark enough to give me some color. It gives my face a nice sun-kissed look without any orange tones. When looking at it in natural light, you won’t notice any shimmer or glitter. However, in the direct sun you’ll notice that there is very, very fine golden flecks in it. They are not noticeable on the skin at all, it just helps to make my skin look radiant.
The bronzer itself is really creamy and silky soft. I got a little over-zealous at first, it only takes a light dab with the brush to get enough. It easily glides onto the skin and blends like a dream. It leaves behind a nice powder like finish with no greasiness or oily texture.
What do you think of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Cream to Powder Bronzer? Is this something you would try?
Available exclusively at QVC.

I’ve been very curious about cream bronzers lately and have been wanting to try the Chanel Bronze Universal one or the Laura Mercier one. This one looks great, but in general I don’t prefer a cream-to-powder formula. I can never get it to blend evenly on my cheeks without looking patchy!!!

Hey Becca. I too have lusted over the Chanel one but it was so darn expensive. This Tarte one is a nicely priced alternative. I don’t think you’d have trouble blending this one. It is so soft and creamy and blends easily. Plus with QVC, you can return it if you don’t like it. Let me know if you try it.

I have oily skin, does it add oil to my face?
myfindsonline says
It won’t necessarily add oil to your face but it may not hold up well depending on exactly how oily your skin is. Just like any cream makeup product, oily skin can cause the product to break down faster than a powder product does. I have an oily t-zone so it doesn’t do that for me cause I really don’t bronze my t-zone with the product.
