I recently was given the generous opportunity to review the Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream ($34). It comes in a squeeze tube with 1.1oz of product. The cc cream contains SPF 20 and is oil free.
This one comes in three shade choices; Linen, Natural and Wheat. For my fair skin I chose to try out the shade Linen.
What first caught my attention was that it is white when it comes out of the tube. It contains “micro-encapsulated pigments” which you can notice in my swatch below if you look closely.
Once you start to blend the cc cream into your skin it adapts to your personal skin tone for a flawless match. Pretty cool!
It may look blotchy in my blended swatch below but that was mixed around lightly so you could see the color changes. It turns out perfectly on my face and matches very well.
I like to apply this one with my fingers to get a nice even application. It goes on just like a moisturizer would. It feels nice and light on my skin, not heavy or greasy at all.
The coverage you get with this is pretty light. It evens out the redness on my face but freckles and blemishes are still visible. Nothing a little concealer can’t cure though!
This Studio Gear cc cream has a semi-dewy finish on my skin. I do like to finish it with a powder though for a bit of extra coverage and to keep my oily skin at bay.
Since the cc cream is on the thin side the wear for me is about average, even with a primer underneath and a powder on top. My oily skin starts to break it down around the 4 hour mark which is pretty standard for me with moisture rich bb creams and cc creams.
I do notice that my skin does look nice and moisturized at the end of the day. And I have not had any issues with this breaking me out at all.
Overall I am pretty pleased with this Studio Gear CC Cream. It won’t hold up in really warm weather on my oily skin so I wouldn’t wear this out for special occasions but I do think it’s nice for everyday wear.
It evens out my skin nicely and keeps it moisturized and protected from the sun. All the important things I need for my almost 40 year old skin!
