New to Sephora’s own line of makeup is their Rouge Shine lipsticks ($12). They come in nice sleek black packaging with a color indicator at the bottom of each tube. I bought two shades to try; #15 Pop Star and #19 V.I.P.
Both tubes of lipsticks are considered shimmer shades with finely milled glitter in them. Pop Star is a pale light pink color. The glitter is more noticeable in this one and does feel a bit gritty on my lips. And once the lipstick wears off, you are left with bits of tiny glittery specks on or around your mouth.
V.I.P. is a brighter fuchsia pink color. The glitter in this one does not feel gritty like in Pop Star. I didn’t notice any glitter left on my lips after it wore off either. Both colors are light and soft in texture. They aren’t heavy on the lips and glide on smoothly. They give your lips incredible shine and semi-opaque color.
I’m not fond of Pop Star simply because of the glitter problems. I like the color but can’t stand the gritty feeling on my lips. V.I.P. on the other hand is pretty nice. I like the light formula of these Sephora Rouge Shine lipsticks for summer though. They have over 40 shades to choose from! I think I’ll stay away from the iridescent shimmer shades though if I decide to try another color.
