Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation ($5.29) is a definite must try for anyone looking for a matte flawless finish. I cannot say enough good things about this new foundation! Not only is it super cheap but it performs wonderfully too!
This foundation comes in a squeeze tube containing 1oz of product which is typical for the majority of foundations. It’s available in a range of 8 shades. I picked up the color Ivory and it works perfectly for my fair skin.
The formula of this foundation is on the thick side. To keep it from looking and feeling too cakey, I like to apply mine with my damp beauty blender. That just gives it that extra bit of moisture to help smooth it out more evenly into a thinner layer that doesn’t look patchy.
One thin layer gives my skin full coverage with a nice matte finish. It doesn’t look too matte and dry on the face though. Just a nice flawless matte finish that still looks like your natural skin. And it feels nice and light too.
Since I have pretty oily skin, I still start with a primer and end with a powder. Normally I would have a very shiny face after a few hours with the foundation breaking down in my t-zone area. This foundation seems to do a nice job at keeping my oil at bay.
I get very minimal shine even after 6 hours of wear with this one. My nose gets the shiniest but it doesn’t break down on my t-zone like foundations usually do.
I didn’t expect much from this foundation but wow, am I ever impressed! At the moment I think it has jumped to the top spot as my favorite foundation. It even rivals the look, feel and wear of my high end favorite Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation. That one tends to oxidise on me a bit though while this Rimmel one does not.
This is an absolute must try if you like a matte finish so keep your eyes out for it. I found mine at my local K-Mart and it had a $1 off coupon on the display too so I actually only paid $4.29 for it!
Will you be trying the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation?

I’m totally interested in trying this foundation! I definitely have pretty dry skin in the winter though… so I’m not sure it would be the best match for me at the moment. I love nice, dewy skin. 🙂 But, I am more combination in the summer… I’ll definitely have to give it a try! Thanks for your review. Three cheers for inexpensive makeup that works!!!

Whoop, whoop, whoop! This one doesn’t seem drying to me so you may be ok if you apply it with a damp sponge. It would probably cling to dry patches if you just use a brush or fingers. Hope it works out for you!
