Recently released in the Summer 2012 Escapism Collection are these new Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush ($12.99). Three colors are available; Pinched, Flushed and Coral Reef. In the packaging the 3 shades look outrageously bright, but don’t let that scare you away. Here I’ll talk about the two shades I bought; Pinched and Flushed.
Once unpackaged, you’ll be left with round pots that are 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall with the cap on. Each blush pot contains 0.44 oz of product. That is a ton of blush! Especially when considering that both the NYX cream blushers and MAC Cremeblend blushers are only 0.19 oz per container. Quite frankly, these will last forever! Especially once you see how pigmented these are.
Pinched is a pretty peach shade leaning on the orange side. It has a very, very fine gold shimmer in it that is only noticeable as a glow when on the cheeks. Pinched is a great color for pale/fair skin but it may be too light for darker skintones.
Flushed is a very bright fuchsia pink color. A little of this cream blush goes a long way. Flushed does not contain any shimmer or sparkle.
As I said earlier, don’t let the vibrant colors alarm you. They are very wearable shades that go on fairly shear. These Revlon PhotoReady cream blushes can be applied with a light hand and blended out or built up for a more pigmented look.
As you apply the blush, you’ll notice that they appear pretty wet and creamy on your fingers. But don’t worry, they dry down to a powdery like finish. You can easily apply them with your fingertips or a duo-fiber type brush.
As with most cream blushes, wear time is not great. Especially when you have oily skin like I do. After only a few hours, the color begins to fade a bit on me. That leads me to have mixed emotions about these Revlon cream blushes.
I love the colors and how they apply and look on the skin but wear time is a bit of a bummer. They’re also a bit pricey for a drugstore blush. Luckily I found these when RiteAid was having a buy one, get one 50% off on Revlon items.
The third shade that I did not get was Coral Reef. I’ve seen other people’s swatches online and it looks equally as pigmented and pretty as these two are. So what do you think of the Revlon PhotoReady cream blush? Will you be trying any of the three shades?
