New for Summer 2012 is Revlon’s Highlighting Stick in the color Golden ($9.99). This generous sized crayon from the Escapism collection can be used to highlight your cheek bones, brow bone and/or water line. It comes in one shade, a very light shimmery gold color. Not bright gold though, more of a flesh toned gold which makes it easily blendable and natural looking on the skin.
I mainly bought this to wear on my waterline to brighten up my eyes. Unfortunately it’s so light in color that it really doesn’t have an effect on my eyes. It pretty much just blends into my skin with a tiny amount of shimmer noticeable. The stick is so soft too that it really doesn’t last long on my waterline. It disappears within an hour of applying it.
As a facial highlighter, this stick works really well. It basically has the same consistency of a standard eyeshadow crayon. It’s soft enough to blend into your face or brow bone while leaving behind a glowing golden shimmer.
This highlighting stick winds up to reveal more product as you wear the tip down. As an added bonus, Revlon built in a sharpener in the end so you can always rework the tip into a nice point instead of a blunted end. I think that’s a really cool feature.
Size wise, you’re getting a really generous amount in this stick. As a comparison I’m showing you above how it compares in length to the Revlon balm stains.
As a whole, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a budget friendly facial and brow bone highlighter. For the waterline, not so much. I’ll be sticking to a flesh colored eyeliner for that.
Available at drugstores such as Rite Aid, CVS, Ulta and Walgreens.
