As a follow up to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, Revlon has just released a collection of both Lacquer Lip Balms and Matte Lip Balms ($8.99 ). I wanted to try out both formulas so I bought one of each to try. Let’s see how they compare, shall we?
I picked up the lightest pink shades that they had in each formula. Most of the other colors looked way too bold for my liking, judging from the outside tube colors. I bought the lacquer balm in Demure and the matte balm in Elusive.
The one thing I do not like about the kissable balm stains is that they have a firmer texture and feel really dry on the lips. Both of these newer formulas are softer and much more moisturizing on the lips, even the matte one surprisingly.
Both formulas are also nice and creamy. They glide smoothly onto the lips and provide a nice amount of color. The lacquer balm has a nice and glossy finish while the matte balms dries down to a matte finish but not one that looks overly dried out.
The matte balm stays nice and creamy feeling on the lips too. You don’t get that dry feeling where your lips start to stick together. However it does still cling to and accentuate dry patches on your lips.
The Demure lacquer has lots of glitter in it which I absolutely hate. Once it wears off, you’re left with glittery specks all over your lips. Plus you can feel the glitter in the balm, it’s slightly gritty like fine sand.
Since they both have a soft and creamy texture, they do both transfer easily which means they aren’t long lasting. You’ll get average wear time if you’re drinking and/or eating a lot. Elusive, the matte one, does stain my lips a bit but Demure does not.
Overall I like the matte balm pretty well, I just wish they had more subtle colors to choose from. I would have loved the lacquer balm if it did not have glitter in it. The price to me is a little on the high side but you can easily find them on sale at your local drugstore. I got mine at Rite Aid this week where they are buy one, get one 50% off.
Will you be trying any of these Revlon Lacquer or Matte lip balms?

I completley agree about it being quite easily transferable, it doesn’t last very long with the lacqeur or mattes but overall I DO prefer the mattes. These colours are gorgeous and I wish they did last longer, thank you for your review as I now won’t be purchasing this colour as they are so similar and I don’t like the sound of the glitter !
