Tarte is introducing us to a brand new 6 piece collection on QVC this coming Friday, July 13th. The What Has Your Makeup Done For You Lately collection will be available starting at 12:00am Friday morning and will be featured throughout the entire day.
This collection will be selling as the Today’s Special Value for a little under $50 which is exciting in itself. But more than the fabulous value, most of the items in the collection are brand new. Everything comes in a pretty floral box with a flip top lid.
Here’s what you get:
- Maracuja Miracle 12 Hour Foundation with SPF 15 (available in fair, light, medium, tan, and deep)
- Flawless Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush
- Maracuja Oil Rollerball (0.6 fl. oz.)
- ModernEYES Waterproof Creaseless Eyeshadow and Eyeliner
- Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara
- LipSurgence Lip Shine in Smitten
- Bonus Sample: Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment Cream
After using all of the items, I’d like to give you my honest opinions on everything included in this collection. Let’s start with the foundation brush. I love the design with it’s sturdy bamboo handle printed with a floral graphic. The bristles are super soft and it blends the foundation easily.
The maracuja foundation comes in a pretty frosted glass bottle with a handy pump top. I bought the color fair and it matches my skin pretty well. They call this a full coverage foundation but I think it’s more of a medium coverage. It covers redness pretty well but I can still detect my imperfections.
This Tarte foundation leaves your skin with a semi-dewy finish. Not too dewy to look greasy, but enough to give you a youthful glow. As much as I like the finish of this foundation, it doesn’t perform very well on my oily skin. They claim 12 hours, but after about 6 hours it started to breakdown even with my favorite primer underneath.
I really like both the mascara and the eyeshadow/liner duo. The eyeshadow stick glides nicely along the lids and is easily blendable. It did take several applications to get enough color but it does build up easily. The Plumberry shade is a nice almost smoky purple color.
The eyeliner end of the ModernEYEs duo is nice too. The eyeliner is pretty firm but not enough to cause tugging along the eyes. It gives a nice color payoff which is a deep purple. They both perform pretty well on my oily eyelids too. I can get a full days wear without creasing, which is really good for me.
Tarte Gifted mascara is really nice. It compares very closely to their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara by giving lashes a nice amount of added length with just two coats. I really love the bamboo case too!
Speaking of love, I really love the rollerball maracuja oil! I use this stuff every night and with the old bottle and dropper, I’m always dripping it everywhere. Not anymore! Now I can just roll it on my face, smooth it out and go. Plus I can travel with it and not have to worry about it leaking. Perfection!
Lastly is a LipSurgence lip shine in a pretty pink called Smitten. Now I’m not sure if this is the same formula as the original LipSurgence lip tints or not. It feels exactly the same but the packaging is much different. The tube is much slimmer, a bit longer and includes a sharpener. What!? Yep, that’s right, this one needs sharpened instead of twisting the bottom for more.
I’m happy that they built the sharpener into the lid but I prefer the twist up tubes. Yes, you’ll always be able to have a point for applying but I prefer the convenience of just twisting the tube. Am I in the minority on this? Guess we’ll have to wait and see if all the Tarte Lip Surgence tubes will be like this from now on though.
As far as the sneak peek sample of the new maracuja c-brighter eye treatment, the cream feels nice but I’ve not been using it long enough to notice any significant results. Only time will tell.
All in all, this is a great value for the price. The products are amazing as usual. Just be aware that those of us with oily skin may not be suited for this foundation but it never hurts to try! You always have 30 days to return anything used or unused to QVC for a refund.
Available at QVC on 7/13/2012.

I really thought the look of this foundation was lovely, but like you I have oily skin–even more so now that it’s summer–so there’s just no way that this will work for me. I know it! Besides that, that Lipsurgence color looks AMAZING on you. And I really, really want to try that eye cream. It looks light, and I like the vit-c/maracuja oil content. I’ve been searching for the perfect eye cream that isn’t too expensive. This one looks nice

Yea, I really wanted the foundation to work for me. Unfortunately it doesn’t hold up well. By the end of the day I’m left with that super greasy face feeling and the foundation is pretty much all gone from my nose and cheek area. 🙁
I like the Lip Surgence color too! It’s a very flattering shade. The cream does feel very nice, I’m hoping that a complete Tarte maracuja skin care line is around the corner. I’m a huge fan of the oil but would love to have a day and night cream too.
