October’s Play by Sephora box was themed around all things cool. I was super excited to see two skincare items from brands I’ve been dying to try as well as lip products from both Smashbox and The Estee Edit.
Each month the cloth bags that the products come in keep getting cuter and cuter! This one is printed with the saying Lipstick & Chill in black, pink and red colors.
Here’s what came in the October #SephoraPlay box:
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum ($15) – I’ve really wanted to try this for some time now but the full size is a whopping $90! It’s a serum that “refines and resurfaces skin by gently dissolving dead skin cells and supporting natural collagen.” This is a nice size sample to see if it’s worth splurging on the full size.
Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray ($9.07) – This smells so, so good! It’s a facial spray that is supposed to tone the skin, restore radiance and freshen makeup.
Madam C.J. Walker Scent & Shine Coconut Oil ($2.30) – Coconut oil with scents of woods and vanilla added. This oil is for your hair to add shine and tame frizz. Smells really good, very similar to Bath & Body Works’ Warm Vanilla Sugar.
The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Flash Photo Gloss ($7.40) – A clear lip gloss with blue micro-pearl shimmer. The blue tint is supposed to make your teeth appear whiter. I don’t really notice anything on my lips besides it being super thick and sticky.
Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat ($?) – A really pretty matte liquid lipstick in a terracotta pink color. It transfers very little and is long lasting. Doesn’t feel overly drying and doesn’t crack or crumble apart on the lips. Love the color for fall!
Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent St. Fragrance ($?) – Now this is really nice! It’s a very soft and romantic fragrance of white musk and subtle florals. Smells light and refreshing. Love it!
I’m actually really happy with the beauty samples that came in this month’s Play by Sephora box. The only thing that didn’t excite me was The Estee Edit gloss.
I can’t wait to try the Drunk Elephant serum and the Farmacy spray mist! I’m excited to have the Smashbox liquid lipstick and it’s a large enough sample that will last me a really long time.
All the items in this #SephoraPlay bag came to $33.77, not counting the Smashbox lipstick and the fragrance sample. Neither of those had sizes on them so I couldn’t calculate their exact value. But we can safely say this bag was well worth the $10 cost.
