The January 2017 Play by Sephora was all about starting the new year off with a fresh start. Repair your hair, refresh your skin and more!
This month’s samples came in another unique bag. I love the crisp white and neon orange color combo! The front was a nylon type fabric but the back was a white breathable mesh.
So cute! It actually could come in handy to shove a sweaty headband, socks, etc in after your workout sesh.
Here’s what came in the January #SephoraPlay box:
AmorePacific Color Control Cushion Compact ($5.71) – A cc cream in cushion compact packaging. Contains broad spectrum SPF 50+. I think these are going to be too dark for me and they have pink undertones. I’m usually a neutral but I’ll still try it out to see the coverage and finish.
Youth To The People Kale + Spinach +Hyaluronic Acid Age Prevention Cream ($?) – The name is a mouthful! This facial cream is supposed to restore and rejuvenate skin. Feels silky smooth on the skin without being greasy. Has a very, very faint fresh scent to it.
Ouai Treatment Masque ($7.77) – A restorative hair mask to treat damaged hair so it is softer and smoother. Smells so good!
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey ($?) A very sheer lipstick in a berry color. Has a glossy finish and reminds me more of a lip balm than a lipstick. Wears off quickly with very little color payoff.
Tarte Frxxxtion Stick ($4.88) – I was so, so excited to see this in the box this month! I have been wanting to try this out but hadn’t taken the plunge yet. So glad I get to try a sample first! This is an exfoliating gel cleanser in stick form. Can’t wait to try it!
Tory Burch Love Relentlessly Fragrance ($3.40) – Notes of pink pepper, rose, orris and sandalwood. It’s a very feminine scent, mostly floral. It is strong so it may not be for everyone. I actually like it a lot even though I typically hate floral scents.
I’ve gotta admit that I was pretty underwhelmed by this month’s #SephoraPlay. The only thing that wowed me was the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick. Everything else I could have done without.
The total retail value of my samples came to $21.76, not including the facial cream and the lipstick. Those did not have quantities marked on them so I had no way to calculate their worth.
