I’ll just start by saying that August’s Play by Sephora was bomb! I got some products I’ve been dying to try out so it was well worth my $10 investment.
I’ll give you a hint. Hourglass, Clinique, Korres and BeautyBlender were all involved. Let’s look at the goods!
As with most months, the bag is super cute. It’s in their traditional red, white and black motif with a chemistry theme. This month we’re exploring “elements of beauty” and the innovators paving the way for the future of beauty.
Here’s what came in the August #SephoraPlay box:
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($7.36) – So excited to see this in the box this month! I’ve been so tempted to buy it as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. The Shell color is a little dark for me but it will still give me a chance to try it before buying it.
BeautyBlender Micro Mini ($9) – A tiny version of the ever popular BeautyBlender makeup sponge. This one is good for fitting in tiny spaces such as the undereye area.
Korres Golden Krocus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum ($13.61) – Whoa, the full size of this is $98! It’s a “potent anti-aging serum infused with antioxidant rich Greek saffron”. It’s supposed to visibly reduce fine lines. Very curious to try this out.
Alterna Caviar Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist ($8.77) – A hair styling mist to add volume and texture. Two things my curly Italian hair does not need, lol! I’ll be passing on this one.
Clinique High Impact Mascara & Lash Building Primer Duo ($?) – A double ended mascara & primer combo. I used this once already and it is amazing! Using the two together gave my lashes amazing length. My lashes stayed nicely separated and fluffy looking too. I’m impressed.
My Burberry Black Fragrance ($4.32) – A blend of jasmine, candied rose and amber. It’s floral but more on the lighter side. It’s very soft and feminine smelling. I like it, surprisingly, since I don’t usually like floral scents.
August was a definite success for my Sephora Play box. I’m super excited about everything but the Alterna haircare item. Looking forward to trying out the Hourglass foundation, Korres serum and mini BeautyBlender.
The total retail value of my samples came to $43.06, not including the Clinique mascara/primer duo. There was no way to figure out the price of that one accurately.
