Pink Social is a bright pink lip color from the new Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Laquer ($24) line. This collection includes a wide variety of beautiful, bold colors with 20 in total.
I had a hard time picking which color to try out first. There were a lot of light, milky shades that I thought would be too light for my fair skin. And a lot of dark, vampy shades which aren’t really my thing.
I went with a shade that was somewhere in the middle. Pink Social looks like a soft pink in the packaging but it’s actually pretty bright on the lips. It’s a really pretty medium coral pink color without any shimmer.
This lip lacquer goes on smoothly just like a gloss would. It is not sticky at all, even after hours of wear. It has a nice glossy finish to it that lasts pretty much until it all wears off.
It feels like a liquid lipstick to me with a nice, lightweight texture and no scent. I’m super impressed with how opaque it is as well. One light coat gives me almost completely opaque coverage.
This is one product that can claim to be long-wearing and have that actually be true. The wear time is fabulous, even with eating and drinking. I can easily get 5 – 6 hours of wear without having to reapply it.
As time goes by, it doesn’t wear off unevenly either. You don’t get that blotchy lip effect like some long-wear lip gloss/stains do. And speaking of stains, this stuff really stains my lips a lot.
When all the glossiness wears off, my lips are still a pretty medium pink color. The stained effect looks even and very wearable so you don’t have to worry about constantly running to a mirror.
The stained effect lasts a long time as well. Long into the evening and before bed my lips are still stained a really good amount.
Overall I’m really impressed with this Smashbox formula. You get amazing color payoff that lasts pretty much all day. I love the way it keeps my lips feeling soft and smooth as well. There’s no slippery, greasy or sticky feeling with this one.
You can buy Pink Social online at Sephora, Ulta and Smashbox.
