Recently I picked up two new colors of the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes ($9). Honey is described, on the Milani website, as a nude brown while Sweetie is described as a nude beige.
I ordered these online so I was blind to what they actually looked like in person. To my surprise, the colors look really similar side by side in the tubes. But once you put them on the lips, you can see the difference.
Sweetie has a hint of pink to it so I consider in more of a nude pink color. Honey on the other hand is much darker and more brown. It’s a warm shade with red undertones.
These liquid lipsticks have a strong vanilla scent to them and dry down to a matte finish. As with most matte lip colors, these can make your lips feel pretty dry after a few hours.
You’ll want to start with well hydrated lips before application. There is no stickiness at all and they are long wearing as long as you’re not eating or drinking.
They will gradually wear off during the day, especially with greasy, oily foods. You will need to reapply if you wipe your mouth as often as I do when I eat.
Both Honey and Sweetie give great color payoff and coverage. One light swipe across the lips gives nice opaque coverage.
The formula is nice and light but there is zero patchiness issues with either color.
I really like both of these Milani matte lip creme colors. They are both very wearable, neutral colors that will go with just about any look.
What do you think of Honey and Sweetie? Would you wear either color?
