Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Lifter Foundation ($13.99) has a built in smoothing primer inside. It also contains peptides which are supposed to “firm skin instantly while the primer smooths lines and rough texture”. Available in 12 shades, I chose Creamy Ivory.
The look of the packaging is really cool with the foundation swirled within the clear skin primer. I wish the ratio of foundation to primer was a bit higher though, but more on that in a bit. The bottle has a pump top that instantly dispenses the two semi-mixed together. Just simply mix it a bit more with your fingertips or brush before applying.
The coverage of this Maybelline foundation is super light. It’s really wet and thins out to be very sheer. It barely covers any redness and most imperfections are clearly visible with this on. You’ll definitely need to conceal those troublesome spots.
Since the coverage is so thin, it does feel nice and light on the skin. You don’t get that heavy, cakey feeling when wearing The Lifter. I do not notice any changes in the firmness of my skin but I do think the primer smooths out my skin a bit.
As for wear, I’m pleased with that aspect of this foundation. Since there is so much primer in this, it stays nicely on my skin. Usually foundations start to break down on my oily skin after 5 hours of wear but Maybelline The Lifter stays intact all day. My skin doesn’t get as greasy looking throughout the day either.
I’m disappointed with the coverage of this one. I like the way it feels and performs but I just wish it had more foundation and less primer in it. If you don’t have skin imperfections that you want to cover, then this will work great for you. Anyone with skin troubles will want to steer clear and try something with more coverage.
Will you give Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Lifter foundation a try?

Great review. I was looking at this the other day in the store. I’m glad I didn’t pick it up. The coverage definitely wouldn’t work for me.
