I swear I’m on a quest to own every single shade of these Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows! Just when I think I’m done buying them, I decide to pick up another. This time I tossed Painted Purple into my shopping cart.
Painted Purple initially looks like a very bold, bright purple shade. When applied on the eyelids, it’s actually quite shear. In fact this shade is one of the most shear that I have tried, so much so that it’s actually a bit difficult to work with. Even when I tried layering several thin layers, it got a bit patchy and uneven.
As for wear time, the formula is really a winner. As with the other Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow colors, Painted Purple holds up really well on my oily eyelids as long as I use a good eye primer first. I’m able to get up to 10 hours of creaseless wear. If I don’t use a primer, these cream eyeshadows slide and crease within 2 hours for me.
Even though I’m not impressed with the application of this particular color, I’ll still keep it in my collection. It’s not opaque and even enough to wear on it’s own but it does make a nice base for adding a purple powder eyeshadow on top.
