Maybelline just released 10 new colors in their ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lipstick ($5.50) line. This line was super popular last fall when they released the first 10 colors.
I came across the new for 2015 colors at my local Wal-mart at the beginning of the week. As you can see from the display picture below, most of the colors are on the bolder side.
My comfort zone is usually nudes and light pinks so most of the new matte colors don’t appeal to me. I decided to only pick up three of them; Clay Crush, Blushing Pout and Nude Nuance.
Clay Crush turned out to be more on the orange side than I would have expected. It has nice pigmentation and is opaque in one light layer.
Blushing Pout is a medium pink color with hints of lavender to it. This one is also very pigmented and opaque. However, this color really emphasizes my lip lines something terrible.
Nude Nuance isn’t very nude at all. It’s so much darker than I expected and has a chocolate brown look to it with a hint of brick red. It’s loaded with pigmentation and is very opaque.

My Final Thoughts:
Sadly, I’m not a fan of all three of these Maybelline matte lipsticks. Blushing Pout is the only one I thought was promising for me but I hate the way it makes my lip lines look.
The creamy formula is still nice and I like the pigmentation and opacity. However, the colors are just not my cup of tea.
Have you tried any of the new matte colors yet?

Nude nuance is very much a nude. Nudes atent meant to be garish ghostly pale like Mac myth!
