Along with the display of the new Master Hi-Light blush shades, Maybelline also had several Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads and singles all marked with “new” stickers. Upon closer inspection they all seem to be old color combos that have been repackaged.
I decided to pick one up anyway, Mocha Motion. This is a very natural looking eyeshadow quad with shades of brown and cream. The base, lid and liner shades are pretty much a satin finish with the crease shade being the only one with a more shimmery finish.
I have read that these Maybelline eyeshadows are reformulated as well as getting updated packaging. They are supposed to be silkier in texture which I find to be true, at least with this one. They aren’t chalky at all, even the base cream color is nice and silky. They all blend out really nicely as well.
The pigmentation is so-so with this one which actually is ok with me. It gives my eyes just enough color to look natural and works perfectly for an easy everyday look.
If you want neutral shades with loads of pigment, this is not the quad for you. However, the colors are buildable so you can achieve better pigmentation like I did for my swatch here.
Overall I’m really happy I picked this Maybelline Mocha Motion eyeshadow quad up. The colors look really nice when used together and so far I’ve had great luck with them not creasing on my oily eyelids as well.

I have the older version in Chai Latte and I love it! The pigmentation is super impressive… it has two matte shades that are both buttery and soft, and a bronze shade that is super metallic! I’ve almost used the whole thing, and I’ll definitely repurchase it… I hope that I like the newer version just as much… I’m a little nervous! 🙂

Sounds pretty, I’ll have to take a closer look at that one. I don’t own very many Maybelline eyeshadows so I really can’t tell you how different the old version is to the new one. Wish I could help more, 🙁
