Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow Crayons ($20) are a newly released eyeshadow product available in 12 matte and pearl finishes. These eyeshadow sticks are waterproof , smudge-proof and long lasting. I purchased 26E Pearly Peach to try out.
26E Pearly Peach is a nice peachy gold color with a pearl finish. The peach is more on the orange side and pretty bright. But this eyeshadow applies fairly sheer so it’s not too bright. You can build it up with several applications, I used three when I tested it. I really like this color. It goes really nicely with other gold and neutral shadows.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow applies nice and easily. The crayon is pretty soft so it glides onto the eyelids without tugging. I blended mine out with my finger but you could easily do it with a brush instead.
The downside of this eyeshadow is of course the price. At $20 bucks a pop, I won’t be buying all of the Aqua Shadow colors. These shadow pencils are very comparable to the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils which only cost around $5. However, I do think these Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadows wear longer than the NYX jumbo pencils.
I have very oily eyelids so I wanted to test this shadow crayon without any eye primer. 5 hours later I was super excited to see that I had zero creasing, which is quite a miracle for me. And at 8 hours I saw the first minimal signs of creasing.
Overall I’m really pleased with the wear time. Most shadows crease for me within 4 hours if I’m not wearing a primer. So getting to 8 hours with very little creasing is really great.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadows are now available at Sephora. Are you tempted to try these waterproof eyeshadow crayons?

I’m not happy with the price. I’m on a budget, and these are out of my range for just one pencil. So I was really pleased to see the Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencil Stash go on sale. I got 5 of them for $12! They aren’t full size, but they are still plenty for me to give them a go. If you haven’t tried them they sound exactly like these. I also have oily lids, and these last without primer for hours and only have the tiniest creasing after a long day. I think they might still be in the sale section at Urban Decay if you are interested, and the last time Hautelook had UD they were there for $9 (but their shipping is higher, so it’s about the same in the end.)

I have that set too Donna! It was a great value and the colors were a great mix of neutrals and bolds. I do like this Make Up For Ever one better though. It really sticks to my eyelids like glue! The UD ones still crease on me after a few hours even with a primer. But I still love them all! I’m a big fan of the Mally Evercolor shadow sticks too. They last really long also and are highly pigmented.
