L’oreal Infallible Total Coverage ($12.99) is a full coverage foundation in a range of 12 different shades. This face and body foundation claims to be high coverage, weightless with a natural finish and last for up to 24 hours.
Let’s see for ourselves!
You’ll notice that this foundation is packaged in a squeeze tube with a fine tip. With the first squeeze you’ll realize just how thick the formula is.
Total Cover is light and airy with an almost whipped texture. It’s very thick and more on the dry side so you’ll want to work quickly with this one.
It sets up really quickly as well. If you leave it sit too long, you’ll have more trouble blending it evenly. I recommend working in smaller sections to start with until you get more used to working with it.
With thicker foundations I like using a damp beauty sponge to add some moisture and help it blend out. That is my preferred method with this foundation as well.
The finish is not quite “natural” to me. Total Cover is pretty much a matte finish foundation for me but it doesn’t look dry or cakey.
L’oreal was not kidding when they named this Total Cover. It does provide full coverage for me and makes my face look nice and even. It covers redness and imperfections really nicely without looking mask like.
I bought the color Classic Ivory and it matches my skin perfectly. I’m usually an Ivory in drugstore foundations and this one is spot on.
This foundation doesn’t feel heavy like some full coverage foundations sometimes do. It doesn’t really feel like I’m wearing anything, which is great.
Unfortunately it doesn’t do much in the way of oil control. My t-zone gets oily at about the 4 hour mark and starts to break down a bit around the 6 hour mark.
Overall, I really like this one. I love the coverage it gives and how it makes my skin matte without looking overly dry. It’s a good option for me as long as I start blotting halfway through my day.
