To go along with the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, L’Oreal has come out with the Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray ($16.99). Boy that’s a mouth full!
First thing I noticed at CVS was the gosh darn price. Holy heck, this is the drugstore. You do know that, right L’Oreal? But being the sucker I am, I bought it anyway knowing that I can return it if it doesn’t do anything for me.
Back in 2012, L’Oreal bought Urban Decay which is highly known for their makeup setting sprays. So them releasing a drugstore version was only a matter of time.
I’ve tried a couple different Urban Decay setting sprays and have not really noticed them extending the wear of my makeup so I didn’t have high hopes for this one.
For those not familiar with makeup setting sprays, they are to be used as the last step in your makeup application. They usually claim to help your makeup wear longer throughout the day so your makeup looks fresher longer.
They also help in eliminating that dry powdery look if you wear powder foundations. It helps your makeup look more natural and less cakey.
I’ll admit, I’ve been actually quite surprised by the Pro-Spray & Set. I’ve been testing this off and on for the past few weeks and have had better results with this spray than I’ve ever had with any UD version.
This setting spray has the best application of any other spray I’ve tried. It comes out in the nicest fine mist that helps give an even application. Most others spurt and sputter various amounts of spray coming out at once.
I’ve tried it paired with not on the L’Oreal Pro-Matte foundation but other foundations in my collection that I know my oily t-zone breaks down after several hours. The Pro-Spray & Set keeps my makeup looking great at the 10 hour mark.
My nose still gets a bit shiny at the tip but nowhere else on my t-zone like normally. It keeps my blush looking fresh and not faded after all that time.
This spray doesn’t alter the finish of my makeup either. It doesn’t make me look too dewy and not too mattified either.
I’m super impressed with this L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set so I won’t be returning this one. The good thing is that it doesn’t seem to use a lot of product per application either so it should last quite a while which lessens the sting of the price tag a bit.
Available online at CVS and Target.
