The new L’oreal Infallible Lip Paints ($9.99) come in a range of fourteen different colors. I bought the colors Nude Star and Taupeless to try out.
The packaging gives the illusion that these lippies have a squeeze type application similar to the Too Faced Melted long wear lipsticks, the Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints or the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints. So I was very surprised to unscrew the cap to find a doe foot wand applicator.
Unless I’m imagining things, these lip paints seem to have a floral smell to them. It’s very faint but I pick up hints of rose. It’s not noticeable once on the lips thankfully.
I’m quite impressed at how very pigmented these are. One swipe gives opaque coverage with a nice glossy finish.
Nude Star isn’t your typical nude color. It has much more pink in it than you’d expect from the name.
Taupeless is a very interesting color. It’s a gray based nude with just a hint of mauve tones.
The formula feels nice and light on the lips, similar to how a non-sticky lip gloss feels. I don’t experience any drying feeling with these on my lips.
Since the L’oreal Lip Paints formula is so creamy and silky smooth, these transfer and wear off pretty quickly if you’re eating and drinking. Luckily the applicator wand makes it nice and easy to reapply quickly.
When it does wear off of the lips, you’re not left with any stain or color remnant of any sort. They easily wipe off the lips with a simple tissue or makeup wipe.
I actually quite like these a lot. I enjoy the color payoff and the nice glossy finish. And Taupeless and Nude Star are very pretty colors against my fair skin.
