It Cosmetics Confidence In a Compact ($38) combines both skincare and foundation into a one step product. Anti-aging serum, pigments and 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen come together in solid form.
There are a total of 7 different shades to choose from. I bought the lightest shade, Fair, to try out.
First off the packaging is along the same lines as cushion compact foundations. It’s a bit bulky with a center reservoir protected with an inner lid that keeps it from drying out.
There is no mirror in this compact which is a bit of a bummer. It does include a sponge applicator.
I bought this Confidence In a Compact at part of a QVC TSV with the set including their angled Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush ($48).
This solid serum is marketed as full coverage. I’ve been using this for weeks now and have been unable to get those coverage results.
I’ve tried the sponge applicator, a Beauty Blender sponge, the complexion brush, and many combinations and variations of tools. The best I can achieve is medium coverage.
It is buildable but the final result for me is always less than full coverage. Freckles and blemishes can still be seen under the foundation. Once I add a powder to set it, that helps to give some added coverage that is lacking.
The formula itself is very creamy once it warms up on your skin. I don’t have any issues with blending it out for even coverage.
I do like the natural finish it gives my skin. It has a demi-matte finish that helps it to look like natural skin, not cakey or greasy either.
The other issue I have with the It Cosmetics Confidence In a Compact is that it doesn’t last on my skin. It seems to just disappear as the day goes on.
I’m not sure if that is because it is a skin serum so it naturally just dissolves and gets absorbed into the skin or if my oily skin is breaking it down. It doesn’t crease or move around though, it just disappears.
At the end of the day, my makeup wipe has just a hint of foundation on it after I run it over my face. It’s just gone. My skin is very sensitive and I have not had any breakouts while testing this out.
I seem to be going through this stuff pretty quickly. It only includes 0.63 oz and I have made a pretty good dent in it already.
If you like the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream, I’d pass on this one. The cc cream has way better coverage and wear time in my opinion.
Available online at It Cosmetics and Ulta.
