Do you hear that? It’s the deafening sound of all of the rave reviews that the 6 new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders ($45) have received so far. Each one is supposed to recreate the look that flattering types of light give to your skin.
Yes, it is expensive. That is the very reason it took me so long to decide which one I wanted to try and if I even wanted to splurge at all just to make my skin look “lit”.
Believe me, I was pretty convinced that I would most likely be returning it if it wasn’t spectacular. I don’t have a Sephora convenient to me so I ordered mine online not expecting to be impressed since I didn’t see it in person first.
Well I was right, I’m not impressed. I’m obsessed!
I decided on trying Ethereal Light. I mean, doesn’t that just sound great? Who wouldn’t want their skin to be touched by ethereal light?! I’m in!
Ethereal Light is a cool toned translucent powder that gives the effect of moonlit skin. It gives my skin such a beautiful, natural looking glow without applying any visible shimmer or glittery specks to my face.
The glow alone would have been enough to sell me on this stuff. However, as a finishing powder, it also gives my skin a very smooth finish that blurs the look of my pores and fine lines a bit.
Is this powder a necessary step in your makeup application? No. However, if you’re desiring a nice glow to your skin and you don’t mind splurging, you should at least give one a try. If you don’t get that “Wow” affect like I did, then you can return it for a refund.
Have you tried any of the Hourglass Ambient Finishing Powders yet? Which one is your favorite?
Available online at Sephora.
