I went to the craft store last week with every intention of making an artificial rose covered heart shaped wreath. My plans quickly changed when I came across these bags of light pink and hot pink multi-sized pom poms.
I love how this turned out! It was so easy to do and only took me a total of about two hours to make. Here’s how to make one of your own.
DIY Pom Pom Valentine’s Day Wreath
What you’ll need:
- Styrofoam heart
- glue
- pom poms (shapes & colors of your choice)
- pom pom garland or ribbon (for hanging)
- floral u pins (optional)
I started off by doing the whole front of the heart wreath first. All you need to do is glue the pop poms one by one alternating colors and sizes as desired.
The floral pins can be used at any point to hold the pom poms in place as they dry. You can push them into the poms the whole way and they aren’t noticeable.
Once the entire front was covered, I repeated the same process on the inside of the heart. You may want to set it aside to dry overnight at that point.
Otherwise it gets hard to hold without getting glue on your hands and without messing up the ones you’ve already taken the time to carefully glue.
The next day, finish your wreath by continuing to glue the pom poms to the outside edge of the wreath. Set aside to dry.
Once dry, I cut my pom pom garland to the desired length. I pinned and glued each end of the garland onto the back of my heart wreath and let it dry overnight.
That’s it! Hang your Valentine’s Day wreath and enjoy!
