Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balms ($5) are tinted to give your lips a sheer wash of color. They come in a range of 12 shades all with hashtag names. I picked up #Luv u and #Text Me to try out.
First thing I’ll mention is the fake fruity scent. It’s not an appealing scent but it’s not a deal breaker for me either. They do give my lips a nice hint of color and a lot of shine which is good.
The formula and wear for these is where things go terribly wrong for me. They glide smoothly onto the lips but they have a very waxy feel and taste to them. It feels very unnatural to me like you literally wiped wax onto your lips.
Smoochies are meant to keep your lips moisturized too which I do not find to be the case at all. They make my lips feel so dry and chapped. After about 30 minutes of wearing them my lips feel so dry that I’m running around looking for anything else to apply to give my lips some relief.
I tried them over and over again hoping that something would change. Every time I came to the same conclusion – I just cannot recommend these. This is the first thing in a long time that I’ve had such a strong feeling of dislike for.
These are going straight back to Walmart. I want them far, far away from my lips!
Have you tried Covergirl Smoochies yet? What did you think of them?

Ooh sounds like a horrid lip balm. Thank goodness my distaste of the packaging kept me away. Covergirl products usually seem blah to me.

I should have stayed away too like I initially thought but I heard some other people online rave about them so I made the mistake of trying them. Not sure what they see in them but they sure are not for me.
