The new Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream ($6.94) is formulated for oily skin. It comes in a rather small range of 6 shades. I picked up the lightest color, Fair, to try out.
This color works really well for me. I have not had any issues with oxidation since I’ve started using it a few weeks ago.
Even though it’s a bb cream, it feels and applies just like a foundation. I get really good results when I apply it with a damp Beauty Blender sponge.
It gives my skin light to medium coverage but it is buildable. My freckles still peek thru in some areas but it does a really nice job of evening out my skin tone and hiding minor blemishes.
I like the natural looking finish as well. It’s matte enough without looking too dry and cakey. I would refer to it as more of a demi-matte finish.
I do have very oily skin so I was anxious to see how this would hold up. Typically bb creams aren’t “heavy” enough to last all day for me. But this Covergirl Clean Matte does surprisingly well.
The area on my nose still does break down and wear away by the end of the day. But it does stay looking fresh on my cheeks and forehead by evening.
I think this is a great option for someone looking for light coverage during the hot summer months. It looks great on my skin, covers well and holds up nicely. It even feels nice and light on the skin like you aren’t wearing anything.
Covergirl Clean Matte is available online at Ulta and Walmart.
