For a while now I’ve been dying to try the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer. I’ve read so many great things about it but kept delaying purchasing it to try. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, the Bobbi Brown Instant Pretty Collection ($76.98) debuted on QVC and I knew I had to finally try it.
One thing that held me back from trying anything Bobbi Brown is the price of their products. So this 7 piece collection is a great value which prompted me to take the plunge.
Here’s what you get:
- Face Touch-Up Palette in Sand (QVC exclusive until 6/1/2013)
- Hydrating Eye Cream
- Sheer Color Cheek Tint in Sheer Pink (QVC exclusive until 12/22/2012)
- Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara
- Long Wear Cream Shadow in Pink Bellini (QVC exclusive until 12/22/2012)
- Shimmer Lip Gloss in Pink Lemonade (QVC exclusive until 12/22/2012)
- Sheer Lip Gloss in Pretty In Pink (QVC exclusive until 12/22/2012)
As you can see, the majority of the items are exclusive to QVC for the time being. The face palette comes in a choice of 6 shades; Porcelain, Sand, Beige, Natural, Honey and Warm Almond. In the face palette you get creamy concealer, corrector, foundation stick and sheer finish pressed powder.
The face palette itself is a small compact size with a mirror on the inside lid. Each product is pretty small though, so you don’t get a lot. Everything comes to only 0.15oz so it’s more of a sampler of all 4 products.
The eyeshadow and the mascara are actually the only two full sized products in this collection which is kind of a bummer. The main reason why I usually love these QVC sets in because they are usually all or mostly all full sized products.
As far as all of these products go, I’m not really impressed. The cream eyeshadow is so light that it’s barely noticeable on my eyelids even after several applications. All you end up seeing is a small dusting of glitter. It doesn’t build up very well at all. The lip glosses look beautiful in the tubes but don’t give my lips very much color at all either, just some shine.
The mascara and blush stick are ok, but not steller. The mascara gives a bit of length but I still prefer mascaras like Tarte Gifted. The sheer blush stick gave my cheeks a soft pink color but nothing like the bold color it looks like in stick form.
I’d have to say that the only saving grace for this Bobbi Brown Instant Pretty Collection is the face palette. Of all the things in the palette the one that I’m in love with is the foundation stick. I really love the look of it and the coverage it provides. It’s not too heavy but not too sheer either. Plus it holds up really well on my oily skin.
By now, you may be able to figure out that I am sending this Bobbi Brown Insant Pretty collection back to QVC for a refund. I didn’t even bother to try out the eye cream since I knew it was going back. For the price of this kit, liking only one item just isn’t enough to justify keeping it. Next time I go to my local CCO, I may look to see if they have just the foundation stick since I loved it so much.
Available exclusively at QVC.

Despite not being super pigmented, I thought the gloss looked lovely on you! And don’t give up on the Long-Wear Cream Shadows–the more pigmented colors are SO worth it! Really incredible and ACTUALLY last on my oily lids!

Thanks Becca. I’ll have to consider trying another shade of the cream shadows some time.
