For this month’s Birchbox, they gave us the option of receiving their regular monthly box or a limited Teen Vogue edition. To mix things up, I opted for the Teen Vogue beauty picks box. I knew that if I didn’t, I’d be lusting over everyone else’s. I’m so, so, so glad I did! It’s awesome! I would have been so bummed if I hadn’t have gotten this one.
In the email, it mentioned that not everything would be exclusively for teens but suitable for any woman. And actually not one single thing is really teen oriented. Sure, maybe the glitter nail polish may not be every woman’s thing but it sure is mine!
So here’s what I got:
Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers – 10 mattifying tissues to absorb excess oil throughout the day. I’ve never tried this brand before but I like having blotting papers in my purse for when I need them.
Essie Luxeffects Glitter Nail Polish in A Cut Above – This is a full size bottle from Essie’s newest collection Luxeffects. A Cut Above is a clear nail polish base with light pink glitter. I’ve looked at these a million times at the store but luckily never bought one.
Tarte LipSurgence in Joy – LipSurgence is a cross between lipstick and lip gloss. They give your lips lots of color while providing shine and moisture. I already have about a dozen of these but not this one!
Joy is a really pretty peach color that appears peach when swatched on skin but once applied to lips it appears more pink. So excited for this full size item that retails for $24!
Petite Cherie Fragrance by Annick Goutal – Not too crazy about this one. It’s described as a blend of fresh fruity notes and musk. I don’t pick up any fruit, just mainly musk which kinda smells old ladyish. They could have picked a much better fragrance better suited for teens than this one. Bleh!
Twistband Hair Tie – I can always use more hair ties! I got one that is sort of mustard yellow.
Plus:
Teen Vogue offer for 2o issues at only $10.00. Sign up at teenvogue.com/go/birchbox.
$10.00 off coupon code for any ModCloth.com order over $75.00. Use coupon code MODPROM.
Birchbox definitely scored a winner with this box. Between the full sized Essie and Tarte LipSurgence, the value is $32.00! I am extremely pleased this box and would love to see more just like it.
Did you opt for the Teen Vogue Birchbox this month? If so, were you just as happy with the products as I am?

They sent an email probably around the end of February asking if I wanted to choose the Teen Vogue box instead of the regular box. Quantities were limited I think so I’m not sure if they emailed everyone or not. I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have given everyone the chance to get it though.

I also chose the “teen” box this month, I was worried it would be filled with nothing for a 40 year old. BUT I LOVE IT!!!!! I got Tarte – Amused. At first glance I thought. “Oh no!!! Neon Pink!” But it wears so nicely. And I love the glitter polish. I will totally wear it. I have a pixie cut so the hair band is going to my sister. She got the other one in a previous pack as well. I do not mind sharing. Oh and Bluck on the fragrance. Not for me either. But I wear Thierry Mugler and Joe Malone scents. I would have been bummed had I not tried it. I saw the ‘regular’ box online and I am totally happy this month with my haul!!!

Hahaha, me too! I’m 36 and was worried nothing would be for me either. So happy I chose it though cause I’d be kicking myself right now!

Great haul! I just got my Teen Vogue box in the mail today and love it. Only difference is I got a hair oil instead of the blotting papers and a tinted lip balm from Sugar Rosé instead of Tarte. Alright, the pink glittery polish isn’t one I would have picked for myself but overall I liked the feel of this box compared to my usual Birchbox. As for who got the offer, I’m not sure if it made a difference but last month I switched from a monthly to a yearly subscription and a few days later got the email offer for the Teen Vogue box. Could be a coincidence but perhaps yearly subscribers got first dibs.

Cool, was the Sugar Rose lip balm from Fresh? I love those lip balms too and would have been happy with one of those. I don’t know who got to choose either but I’m not a yearly subscriber, I’m month to month and still got the email.

I also opted for the TV box & I was chopping at the bit for it to get here! It was my first month, but I loved everything in the box & glad I chose that one. I also have a MyGlam subscription but if April is anything like March I will probably cancel. 🙁

I agree Tiffany, MyGlam needs to step up their game or I’m out too. I’m giving them a few more months before I decide. Thanks for commenting!
