Today I’m finally getting around to sharing my May 2014 Beauty Box 5 with you. Better late than never right!? This month was all about getting “fresh and focused” for Summer.
Let’s take a look:
The first thing that popped out at me was the bright packaging of the Harvey Prince Hello fragrance sample. It contains citrus notes of mandarin, lemon and grapefruit with floral notes of forsythia and plumeria.
I’m not one to usually like floral scents but this one is subtle enough for me to want to wear it. It’s nice and fresh for Spring and I’m enjoying it more than I expected I would. (retail value $2)
Next we have three samples of a new Ban product called Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths. These refreshing cloth wipes contain a superfine translucent powder to dry and cool off your skin.
I imagine these may work great after being outdoors for a while on a warm humid day. Maybe you’re out and about and heading to dinner. Give yourself a refreshing wipe down to get rid of that sticky, sweaty feeling. I’ll have to pop these in my purse! (retail value $0.89)
I love trying new sheet masks so seeing one by a brand I never tried before got me a bit excited. MaskerAide (love the name!) Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask is infused with Argan oil, orange peel oil, super fruit extracts, rice extracts and honey.
It’s supposed to energize, hydrate and brighten your skin for a velvety-smooth finish. Love that it’s paraben and sulfate free and 100% biodegradable. Can’t wait to give it a try! (retail value $5.99)
Next we have a teeny tiny sample (0.27 oz) of H2O Plus Aqualibrium Marine Cleansing Gel. This is an oil-free cleanser made with sea salt and marine botanicals. It’s a clear gel with a light fresh scent to exfoliate your skin and get rid of the impurities.
Not much to say here. I’ll give it a try but it’s not something that I would spend $18 on for a full sized bottle. (retail value $1.20)
Lastly we have a full sized eyeliner from a brand I’ve not heard of before. Cattiva Precisione retractable, waterproof eyeliner in black. Nice to see that it is paraben free and made in the USA. This eyeliner seems to be creamy and nicely pigmented. (retail value $20)
Overall this was a pretty good month with a retail value of around $30. I’m looking forward to trying most of the products, especially the sheet mask.
I could do without the tiny samples of facial products since there’s not really enough to determine if you really like a product or not. Plus I tend to stick with what works for me since I have very sensitive skin.
