I have to say that I’m really disappointed in this month’s Beauty Box 5 contents. There was really nothing in this February box that even remotely excited me. I’ll explain more below but let me tell you what I got first.
- John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner sample packets (2 of each)
- Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads
- Rockstar Nails Nail Polish & Caviar Set
- Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara
First let’s start with the dreaded foil packets. I hate tiny samples like these that barely give me a chance to formulate a real opinion about the product. And I hate fussing with slippery foil packets with wet hands in the shower, such a pain.
I have mixed emotions about the Every Beauty makeup remover pads. I’m glad they are 100% natural and contain Argan oil extract. But since they are all natural they don’t keep well as it states on the back of the packaging.
I wouldn’t purchase a full size since I don’t want to be forced to use them all in the 6 months time frame. They do feel nice and soft though. Who knows, maybe I’ll fall in love once I try them.
I’m so not a fan of the caviar manicure trend personally so this was really disappointing to see in the box. I do like the teal nail polish color but holy heck does it smell strong. I think I’m gonna pass on even using this polish alone. The fumes are just so overwhelming.
I received this same Elizabeth Mott mascara sample in a previous Ipsy bag last year and hated it. It did absolutely nothing for my eyelashes, no added volume or length whatsoever. I didn’t even open this one and plan on passing it along to someone else to try.
Overall this month was a bit of a bummer. Don’t get me wrong, the value was there for the products included. I just don’t personally find them exciting or very useful to me.
