August’s Beauty Box 5 theme was “spa day” with products geared mostly towards hair care and skincare. Two items were like a blast from the past for me. I was a child of the 80’s and these items were super popular back then. Let’s take a look.
If you don’t already know about Beauty Box 5, it’s a monthly subscription service that sends five travel-sized, deluxe-sized and full-sized cosmetic products straight to your front door for only $12 per month.
Here’s what came in my August Beauty Box 5:
Rave 4X Mega Hairspray ($0.97) – I used to practically bathe in this stuff when I was in high school. Big, stiff hair was all the rage in the 80’s and I remember this stuff doing the trick. I don’t use hairspray anymore so I’ll be passing this along to someone who can use it.
VO5 Hot Oil Therapy Treatment ($2.59) – This stuff also used to be super popular when I was younger and I hadn’t seen a tube in years. Interesting that this is making a comeback. Not sure how I feel about this one.
Did. Hair Spa Day Hair Ties ($6.50) – These are really cute. I don’t have long hair at the moment so I can’t use these. But I will save them in case I get the whim to go back to longer hair .
Olive Natural Beauty Elixir ($18) – This is interesting. It’s a concentrated blend of organic ingredients for your skin. It has the consistency of water and is scent free. Doesn’t feel like anything when you apply it but it does add hydration and a bit of a natural glow to my skin. Curious to see if I’ll have any results after extended use.
Global Beauty Care Retinol Spa Treatment Mask ($7.50) – I can never have too many sheet masks! This one is supposed to reduce expression lines and wrinkles.
Nika Facial Exfoliating Brush ($17) – This brush is so dense and so, so soft! It is meant to be used daily with your facial cleanser to gently exfoliate your skin. Can’t wait to try it.
Well that concludes my latest Beauty Box 5 unboxing. This month was pretty good with six total items instead of the usual five. The total retail value came to $52.56.
