Pastel shades are all the rage for Spring 2013. L’Oreal recently released their limited edition Versailles Romance Collection which included 6 new shades of their Colour Riche Lip Balms. The beautiful pastel colors sucked me in and I ended up buying two shades, Provence Romance and Laze In The Maze.
If you’ve ever tried any of the L’Oreal Balms before then you know they can be pretty shear on the lips. This goes for these two new shades also. They feel great on the lips though, they’re nice and light. You get a good amount of shine with these and they keep my lips soft and not dry feeling.
Provence Romance is a lavender pink cream color in the tube. Once applied to the lips, it just ends up being a light pink color with a hint of lavender. I was worried that this one would settle in the fine lines and look too milky but that wasn’t a problem at all.
Laze In The Maze is a beautiful peach toned pink cream shade in the tube. On my lips it ends up being a brighter pink color. This one is more pigmented than Provence Romance but does settle a bit into fine lines and clings to dry spots. It’s a workable shade with a lighter application.
Both of these limited edition shades are pretty light in color so they may not work for all skin tones. While they aren’t exactly the best shades, they aren’t the worst I’ve tried either. I do like these for a quick hint of color with no fuss application. They give my lips nice shine without adding a gloss on top and they keep my lips feeling moisturized and soft.
What do you think of these two limited edition L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm shades? Would you wear them?

I got the Laze in the Maze one and so far, not too impressed. When there are more pigmented, moisturizing balms like Revlon Lip Butters or Maybelline Color Whispers, I don’t think I’ll purchase more of these. The colors are really pretty though!

Yea, these are pretty shear and not as pigmented as I’d hope they’d be. But they are nice and light for summer when I just want a hint of color but nice glossy moisture.

I got both of these as well. While I wasn’t a fan of either on its own, I did like layering them. I liked to start with Laze and layer Provence on top. They smell like MAC lipsticks too, don’t they?

Good idea Emily, I’ll have to give that a try!
