Benefit Fake Up Crease-Control Hydrating Concealer ($24) is one of the most interesting products I’ve tried in a really long time. It comes in three shades; light, medium and deep. I chose the shade light for my fair skin and I’m in love!
I think this is one of those products you are either going to really love or really hate. To be honest I really didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. At first glance it looks like a tiny bit of concealer surrounded by a lot of moisturizer so I didn’t think it would do much.
Let’s first discuss what Benefit’s Fake Up is. The center core is where you’ll find the tinted part of this concealer. It’s completely surrounded by a clear hydrating balm that contains Vitamin E as well as apple seed extract. Both parts together are supposed to give you a moisturizing concealer with very little creasing.
First off, the coverage is on the semi-sheer to light side. If you have really dark circles, this may not have enough coverage for you. It’s very moist when you first apply it but that makes it super easy to blend out. By the time I’ve finished applying all of my makeup, it’s dried a little but always stays looking nicely hydrated.
I love how fresh and moisturized it leaves my under eye area. No more dry, cakey concealer, yuck! It also has a brightening effect that leaves my eyes looking younger and wide awake. And surprisingly it does minimize fine lines and creasing for me.
I usually experience a lot of creasing with any concealer I use under my eyes. Within minutes of applying concealer, it settles into my fine lines before I’ve even finished my makeup. Benefit Fake Up doesn’t do that at all! I can get hours of wear from this before I notice any settling in my creases and even then it’s not as noticeable as with other concealers.
The packaging is also beautiful. I love the shiny silver tube with the bright pink design on top. So feminine and pretty!
Overall I’m really impressed with the Benefit Fake Up Concealer and would recommend it to anyone looking for lighter under eye coverage. The coverage is perfect for me and I love the moisturizing and brightening effects it has on my under eye area.
