NYC New York Color Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss ($3.99) is a collection of 12 shades new for Spring 2013. The first thing I noticed is how fat the tubes are! I chose two shades to try, Extra Large Latte and Coral To The Max.
When I opened the first tube and pulled out the wand, I was shocked!! The applicator wand is ridiculously large. I would actually be embarrassed to use it in public, it’s that big! And the smell, yuck! They have a disgusting baby powdery floral scent but no taste, thank goodness!
Since these are a plumping lip gloss, I was worried they would have a painful sting to them but they don’t. They do make your lips tingle slightly for a second but nothing too bad and it wears away quickly. I do not see any difference in my lips though when I wear these.
I liked the color range that was available and the two I picked are nice. Extra Large Latte is a light milk chocolate nude while Coral To The Max is a light pink shade. These lip glosses apply nice and smooth and did not feel sticky at all.
I have to say I dislike these very much. Besides the awkward applicator, I just can’t get past the scent. It is so strong and stinky that I want it nowhere near my face. I’d have to give these a big thumbs down which is disappointing because I usually like NYC lip glosses. Unfortunately these NYC Big Bold Plumping lip glosses are going straight back to the store!

Coral to the Maxx is a good coral pink color and looks fabulous on my naturally plump lips and beige/tan skin. I needed a bright color and can’t afford mac or chanel right now, heck couldn’t even pay the $9.99 for Loreal’s wild plum- so when I came across this $3.89 lip fix while at my local drugstore-I decided to try it. The scent is vanilla kinda strong and it has a lot of chemicals I don’t want on my lips on a constant basis, but right now I needed an emergency bright lipgloss and this is a perfect temp.

When I bought these they did not really have a scent to them. Some people claim they taste bad as well, but mine have no scent or taste. ILOVE them.

That’s weird! I’m usually not picky about scents but mine were overwhelming!

I bought the Latte color at lunch & i love this lip gloss. NYC generally makes good quality lip products and this is no exception. The scent does not put me off & whatever it is it wears off very quickly … I’m still test-driving the formula to ensure it’s moisturizing … and the color is a very pretty non-shimmery neutral nudish color with warm undertones. So far so good, and for less than $4.00 at Walmart (less than an actual Latte @ Starbucks), you cannot go wrong to try it out.

I actually bought the Pumped up Purple and really like it. The smell is that that overwhelming and the tingling wears off very quickly. It stays on and doesn’t dry my lips like other lip glosses I have tried. I am a mac user regularly and this is a wonderful substitute when my budget is out of whack. You can’t go wrong with ths for under $4.00 at walmart.
