Maybelline Barely Branded 24hr Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow ($7) is one of five new shades available in stores now. In addition to this shade there is also a silver, a pink, a gold and a blue shade. This Color Tattoo Metal collection is a bit different from the usual 24hr Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows in that they have a metallic type finish to them.
Barely Branded is light creamy beige with an almost pearl like finish. For fair skin tones like mine, you won’t get a punch of color from this one. It pretty much blends into my skin while giving a bit of shimmer to my eyelids.
This particular color was nice and creamy for me and applies smoothly with a flat firm shader brush. If you want just a light sheer wash of color, apply it with your fingertips and easily blend it out. If you want more color, you can use a flat brush and build up a few applications.
As far as wear goes, I still have issues with creasing. I have oily eyelids and I cannot get more that 4 hours of wear out of this shade, without a primer, before it starts creasing. With a primer, I can get a full days wear without creasing or fading.
I’d recommend Barely Branded to anyone who wants a nice neutral cream eyeshadow to use as a base color. For fair skin tones, you will only experience a wash of pearlescent shimmer. Those with medium skin tones or darker will probably be able to see the color a bit more on the lids.
Another good thing about these 5 new Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal cream eyeshadows is that they are not limited edition. They will be part of their permanent line so you shouldn’t have trouble finding them.
