It’s time for another Birchbox!! This month Birchbox teamed up with Goop.com and gave everyone the option to choose that box or stick with the regular Birchbox edition. Since I never want to miss out on something fabulous, I chose to accept the Goop box this month.
Although my October 2012 box was really good, I wouldn’t call it fabulous. Was it worth the $10 I paid? Definitely! But the majority of the products were from brands we’ve already had before so nothing was really exciting. At least I got one full sized product in mine so I really cannot complain.
Let’s jump into what I got!
Joanna Vargas Daily Serum – a tiny tube of brightening serum with Vitamins A, E and C. I’ll try this sample but won’t buy a full sized one at $85!
Kiehl’s Orange Flower and Lychee Body Cleanser – this is a nice, generous sized sample! Smells really nice but more on the floral side, wish it had more citrus in it.
Essie Power Clutch Nail Polish – a medium gray cream shade. Full sized!
Naked Princess Naked Shine Lip Gloss in Barely Coral – a teeny, tiny tube of lip gloss. It’s a really pretty peachy coral color. Looks really pretty on my lips and it’s not sticky at all.
Lifestyle Extra:
Luna Fiber Bar in Chocolate Raspberry – a full sized soft, fruit filled fiber bar. Very interested to try this.
As you can see, my Goop Birchbox wasn’t too bad at all. Considering the Essie nail polish retails for $8, I really got my money’s worth this month. How did you like your Birchbox this month?

I received the same exact box! It seems like the “specialty” boxes generally tend to be a bit better than the regular boxes (so far). Hopefully I don’t jinx it! I haven’t looked at this months regular boxes yet so I don’t know what they consisted of, but I know when the Vogue boxes came out, I was happy with it as well.
I haven’t tried the serum yet, but I agree with you – at $85, I definitely won’t purchase!
I have been using the Kiel’s body wash quite often in the shower and do like it, however I was also expecting more of a citrusy scent – more orange, please! I do like this product, but probably won’t repurchase. Kiel’s is usually too pricey for what it is. My dad received a sample of one of their body lotions and he really liked it, so I thought I would buy him a bottle, but it was like $50!
The Essie was a nice shade – I have one similar to it so I would have probably not have purchased this shade, but it’s a nice formula and great for Fall color.
Haven’t tried the Luna Bar, but it sounds good! 🙂
I do really like the gloss, but again, not sure if I would pay for a full sized product. I feel like you can get a similar product elsewhere cheaper – even MAC or Sephora, because I think this brand is close to $30…

I also received an Essie polish. While that definitely makes the box worth its $10, I feel like birchbox and goop copped out by giving subscribers colors from a collection that came out a year ago.

That’s true. I was just glad it was a color I didn’t have already!

oh man, was i disappointed with the “goop” selection. i received two of the same tiny packets of moisturizer, small lip gloss, a packet containing a ‘mask’ treatment and a lemon zest luna bar. no nail polish, no serum, no body wash. i even complained but got nowhere….it was not even worth 5 dollars! i chose the goop box because the other themed boxes are usually fantastic, but this one was a huge disappointment.

Wow, that’s a bummer. I would not have been happy with that. This has by far been the least favorite themed box of mine too. Hopefully next month will be better for you.
