Make Up For Ever’s new Spring collection, La Boheme, is now available at Sephora. The collection is very small and only consists of one eyeshadow palette, an eyeliner and two lipsticks. I was instantly attracted to the one lipstick, Boheme.
Boheme lipstick ($19) is a peachy nude color with a bit or iridescence. It applies really sheer and feels really soft on my lips. It’s not thick and heavy so I think it will be perfect for summer weather. It just gives your lips a bit of color with lots of shine. This Make Up For Ever lipstick formulation reminds me a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters.
I love the La Boheme packaging too, it’s so pretty! The only negatives I will mention is that it settled into the lines on my lips more than I’d like and highlighted some dry patches. And the staying power is not really there. It performs about as well as a standard lip balm.
For the price of this Make Up For Ever Boheme lipstick, you could actually find drugstore equivalents that will give you the same look and performance with a much cheaper price tag. As I mentioned before, the Revlon lip butters are a pretty good dupe for this lipstick. And actually Revlon’s Creamsicle lip butter is actually almost exact.
